Lobbying & Advocacy

WiLDAF/FeDDAF in West Africa and at the regional level maintains an institutional presence at the sessions of the main sub-regional, regional and international institutions dealing with women’s human rights issues. The aim is to represent, monitor and advocate on behalf of network members on issues of concern to women in Africa.
WiLDAF/FeDDAF in West Africa has an extensive network of organizations and individuals in member countries ready to:
- respond to urgent calls for solidarity and protest actions;
- also carry out advocacy actions at the national level for legal and political reforms.
Activities:
- Advocacy for legislative reforms at national and sub-regional level;
- Advocacy for the adoption and ratification of international legal instruments in favor of women;
Advocacy actions before and during the sessions of:
- the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights;
- the African Union
- the United Nations Committee on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women;
- the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women;
- the United Nations Human Rights Council.
WILDAF – AO is a broad pan-African network of women's rights non-governmental organizations and individuals established in 1990 with headquarters in Lomé, Togo.
